Smoky Meadows Ranch is new to the Club Calf Business but not to ranching and good cattle. The ranch was established in the 1940’s by my grandparents, Cecil and Fay Walker. The ranch is located 5 miles Northwest of Sharon Springs along the Smoky Hill River. We currently run around 300 cows, and have been AI’ing to the top Angus bulls for the past several years to obtain our replacement females. The cows that produce the AI sired Club Calves are at least ¾ Angus, home raised, and have great dispositions.
      Smoky Meadows Ranch is a member of the Wallace County Club Calves and markets their show steers and heifers through the annual sale the Saturday before Labor Day. This year’s sale will be Saturday, August 30th. Bids close at 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. The Club Calf sires used this year are Heat Wave, Golden Child, Paddy O, Sun Seeker, Sin City, Q Dog, Ali, Double Whammy, Rocky, Bad Moon Rising, Sonny-N-Clear and Contender.
