McKinney Cattle is a diversified ranching
operation located north of Weskan, Kansas along the banks
of Willow Creek. The total herd consists of 500 mother cows
with a division devoted to club calf production. Artificial
insemination to the top bulls available is used as well
as embryo transfer in partnership with Reiss Club Calves.
While most of the club calf production is devoted to black
crossbreds there is a small herd of shorthorns as well.
McKinney Cattle is a member of the Wallace
County club calf producers and markets their show steers
and heifers through the annual sale the Saturday before
Labor Day. This year’s sale will be Saturday, September
1. Bids close at 5 p.m. mountain time. This year’s
calves are sired by Heat Wave, Golden Child, Money Talks,
Sonny-n-Clear, Man Child, White boy, and Ali.
